Has anyone had any issues with their fingernails peeling or coming off in layers? I bite my nails...I know it's a bad habit and I shouldn't but I have two nails on my left hand that when I bite them the nail comes off in layers almost. It used to only be my ring finger but now it's my ring finger and my pinky. I am not on chemo and this started before I was diagnosed with lupus or began taking any medications for it. It's so odd.

Try taking biotin and folic acid to strengthen your nails. I also keep polish on so I can't pick at my nails.

Yes, my toenails came attached. I don't know if it's the lupus or the medication.

I agree with @A MyLupusTeam Member , try some biotin supplements. I've been fortunate that even when I was really sick my nails were the only nice thing on me that remained after I got all puffy and lost my hair. I think good nutrition plays an important part in it too and no biting. :) LOL.

I am not too sure what it is, I go to the doctor next week and I am going to ask when I go. I have a wedding I'm in in October and I don't want my nails to be gross! Thanks!
