A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭
Brandenburg, KY

He is unable to get shunt put in due to high white cells and they are starting to attack his red cells and organs. Extremely bad headaches from swelling, sores that won't heal, any creams they give him burn his skin, getting sicker by the day. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to lose my brother

He is still suffering pretty bad, thank you for asking Jeevn!! Don't know what they are going to do yet, seems that they are just sitting with their thumb up their behinds!! He's sicker than ever, yet they are doing nothing so far!! I don't know what to do, hard to watch someone suffer and not be able to do anything, I have had 14 surgeries myself, I suffer from Dengenrative Disc Disease, spinal stenosis and the implant they put in my cervical spine caused uncontrollable bone growth and nerve damage. Have had 2 neurostimulators implanted then removed, waiting for approval of pain pump now. So we are both in rough shape. Just wish they would attempt something with him, but so far nothing!! Will keep you updated, thank you again!!

Any update? I'm so sorry to hear what your brother is going through. I have you both in my prayers.

I just read your question concerning your brother and was wondering if he has had a spinal tap done to see if he has viral or bacterial meningitis? I have had viral meningitis 2 times in my lupus journey and I also had high white counts and fluid. There is no antibiotic treatment for a viral infection and I don't see a list of lupus treatments he is currently taking in his profile. Does he have a regular rheumatologist that he sees? More info would be extremely helpful. In the meantime, I will be sending prayers for him and your family. Hugs Sherry
