I just made a really stupid mistake. I bought the book, EAT TO LIVE, by Dr. Fuhrman and I have changed my diet. Then I bought his book called, FASTING TO HEAL DISEASES, and so I stopped my plaquinil and after about 2 months, I now have a terrible swollen gland in my neck and I feel pretty bad. I actually was doing really well before I got this notion that I could get rid of my Lupus. Now I feel pretty bad. Started the Plaquinil again 2 days ago.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. I have done that a few times, not necessarily with stopping my plaquenil as I'm too afraid to do that, but I'll find something that's working for awhile and then think I'm better and then I mess myself up. Hugs and feel better

Oh I have had a rheumy for years and on plaquenil and cymbalta (prednisone when needed). Just trying to use more natural methods to slow down progression of disease and decrease amount of rx's.

Ohhhh, please, run to the rheumatologist!!!!!
That's happened to me, the doctor treated me with so many vitamins, injections, and more, and when I saw a rheumatologist I was in a bad shape. That caused me two years in bed with more than 22 pills a day!
Please, make an appointment as soon as posible!

I started with a functional medical Dr. Before I knew my diagnosis. He gave me lots of supplements, gave me some medicine to flush out excess yeast I. The system, told me to take Tumeric which is a herb that is anti inflammatory. I also did PT to help me with my joint pain. It didn't really help or it didn't help quick enough and as the illness progressed I found it difficult to cope. I asked him to refer me to rheumatologist but he said if I went they would out me on all sorts of bad drugs. He was right about that but you just want so badly to get better you'll do anything. I wonder with time if his treatments would have helped my body heal itself. Our bodies can do it if we give it optimal conditions.
