I've heard differing opinions on both. If you had to choose between one or the other...which one...and why?

Remember, there are different answers for everyone. I tried Cellcept and it did not work. Medicating with Methotrexate caused severe shortness of breath and had to come off of it. Imuran didn't work either. I started feeling better after starting on prednisone. Also, my rheumatologist referred me to a pain management clinic and it became a blessing. They monitor me once a month and control my pain medications as needed.

I've been on Cell Cept for a year. I had strong side effects for a few weeks and they subsided as my body grew accustomed to medication. It helped stop spread of aggressive lupus lesions and stabilize my immune system. I still have flares and stuff but I feel it has really helped me get functional. I've never tried methotrexate.

cellcept. methotrexate made me fatigued even more than the Lupus fatigue. I was in bed four days a week after I took it. It was awful. I didn't have that with the Cellcept.

Cellcept. It seems much milder to me. Methotrexate made me lose my hair, grew back once I switched to cellcept
