Does anybody else start sweating for no apparent reason what so ever? I'm mean I shower every day. This is a sweat of my hair completely wet like I just washed it. I went through change long time ago so it isn't that.

Members connected over the frustration of excessive, unpredictable sweating that leaves hair drenched and clothes soaked, often mistaken by doctors for menopause, anxiety, or medication side effects, even though many are long past menopause or not on certain medications. Several members shared practical coping strategies including carrying fans or towels, using antiperspirant on the face and neck, taking glycopyrrolate or vitamin D, wearing bandanas or layering clothing, and keeping the air conditioning on constantly, with some finding relief through hormone replacement therapy or pharmaceutical patient assistance programs for medications like Plaquenil and Topamax. A recurring theme was the sense of validation and relief in discovering that this embarrassing symptom is widely shared among lupus patients, with many attributing it to the disease's disruption of the body's internal thermostat, inflammation, or nerve damage rather than external factors.

Yes,its apart of this lovely disease. When my body thinks I'm over doing it or even in the shower I start to sweat,I feel like I stuck my head in the oven. The meds we take along with an auto-immune disease that's makes our bodies work harder fighting off a illness we don't have b/c the body is attacking it's self.I know it sounds crazy,b/c it is:).

Yup! I sweat a lot from my head. At night around the neck.

I heard recently that Lupus and Fibromyalgia people have a hard time regulating body temperature- I thought it was because maybe I'm going through the change. Sometimes I'm fine other times I am just sweating so bad my face is soaked. My head looks like I just washed it.

Yep, especially the weeks leading up to a monthly visit. But I do sweat sporadically and I am soaked! I have asked my doctors, they chalk it up to anxiety, but I think they are full of poo-poo! Lol

Omg! I thought it was just me! I keep getting told it's menopause- uh nope.
I am randomly in meltdown mode often - hotter than I've ever been. And I can't tell if it's just me sometimes or the environment around me. I have started dressing in layers that can be removed or swapped to deal. I shower sometime 3x in the day to cool off and feel fresh.
I bought new pillows hat actually have a thermo-gel that keeps me cool at night. Gone are the days of sleeping with layers of Jammies and blankets. Tank top, shorts and a single sheet and light blanket.
It's like I cannot regulate my temperature.
I suspected but had no idea it was lupus related.
