Hey, so for the past five days I have had a consistent fever of 101.5 or so, as well as a horrible headache, and an upset stomach. I haven't really been able to drink anything or eat anything as I have no appetite and it upsets my stomach too much.

I feel like if it were a stomach bug, I would be feeling better or be over it by now, but i'm not. If anything i'm feeling worse.

I'm on myfortic right now, (1440mg daily) and i'm tapering off prednisone, which I know can really mess you up, but can… read more

I had a fever of 39.1 °C (102.4°F) for almost a month I was constantly drinking water, eating ice lollies anything cold that would help my mouth stop feeling dry, I even wore little to nothing at all anything that would take my fever down I did but guess what it didn't work I ended up in the hospital I was severely dehydrated even though I drank nothing but fluids because I couldn't eat solid foods you need to go to your doctor or the ER so they can help you

@TashaArmdf hello, Please, please drink water at the very least, our body(s) are making fluid's like saliva, mucous, intestinal juices, blood and plasma all the time, and our body(s) are trying to remove waste all the time via our kidneys. If you don't replace fluid the fluid in your body (which makes up almost 70% of our body
weight becomes unhealthy at a time when our lymphatic systems needs to flush the toxins from a viral or fungal or bacterial invasion form our 'sick body' People who have a high fever, and stop drinking for days, often end up in hospital lethargic and dehydrated, and out of necessity are given intravenous fluid and electrolytes to provide homeostasis (fluid balance) and most importantly flush their dehydrated systems, and aid in the ridding of toxic waste from their gasping body(s). I have nursed many sick children over the years, and the education is necessary that parents will persevere and help spoon at a time mouthfuls of pedialyte into their child in order that the child will not get dehydrated. Often the parents rationale for not encouraging fluid's, is, 'what's the point, they are only going to vomit it up again, or diarrhoea, so they stop giving the child drinks. Then the child gets weaker and weaker and ends up in hospital, and we start with one spoonful of pedialyte every 5 minutes. If you do have a gastro bug it will take 10 days to pass it through your body, and the one thing you can do is drink sips every 5 minutes. Your fever suggests something is going on. A gastro bug produces foul smelling feces, can't mistake it. The only way to confirm a gastro bug is to provide stool samples in lab sterile containers with the lab form provided by your Dr or practice Nurse, and the results take 3-5 days to return a result. In the mean time you keep yourself away from others as gastro bugs are usually contagious, and you shouldn't by law return to work until you have 48 hours symptom free. Hope this helps, regards, Margaret

You need to go to the hospital drinking water isn't gonna help that fever go away as your body is probably dehydrated

Good and I think it can cause all of those things and you more than likely had an infection that's why they put you on the antibiotics i was on fluids and antibiotics as well due to my ears and lungs being infected @A MyLupusTeam Member

Went to the ER, they gave me IV fluids and antibiotics. Feel a lot better but almost fainted lol. I was dehydrated.

Turns out i'm having some undiagnosed liver problems so I'll have to get on top of that now. Didn't know your liver could cause fever, dehydration, and low BP though?? Unless I did have a slight infection on top of it.
