Platelets main function is clotting. It's called thrombocytopenia and it can be caused from numerous things. One of them is B12 deficiency and iron deficiency. Your platelets are possibly being destroyed by your body too soon since a platelet lasts for 10 days in the body. If you're anemic then you are probably exhausted from that. Anemia can be caused from low iron. A low red blood cell count will cause fatigue because red blood cells are responsible for bring oxygen to every part of your body. and when your body doesn't get enough, your organs (lungs and heart) have to work harder to try and get oxygen to your body.

My SED rate has always tested normal. This is one reason why my doctors didn't take me seriously when I told them I suspected I had an autoimmune disease.

I feel docs rely on lab results too much. Especially with. SLE. We don't know enough about this disease. The most common symptom is the butterfly rash; and that occurs in only 50% of of diagnosed patients. SLE had no predictable progression either.

Sleep if you can...find a way to laugh if you can't sleep. Dare I say it... medical cannabis helps lessen the crappy feeling which is a very huge relief.

I accidentally hit send lol.. To finish what I was saying, Iron helps oxygen bind to the red blood cell. The exhaustion is probably from that.
As far as your sed rate, that blood test checks for an inflammatory response in your system. So if you are not having a flare you are probably exhausted from your low counts. Hope this helps!
