Lupus caused my mother to develop a clotting disorder. Currently takes Lovenox to prevent them from breaking off and heading to her lungs.

I have thrombocytopenia, and having weekly blood draws so they can monitor my low platelets. I'm needing a surgical procedure, and they won't do it if my platelets are low.

I also have been diagnosed this way because the blood work came back with the count too low.I have Leiden Factor five and was told that without medication, I could also have blood clots that could break off and go to my heart.Unlike mom though, because of the Leiden lovenox and blood thinners like Coumidin wouldn't work for it.It is because of the type of Factor five Leiden that I have.He suggests shots.

I have leukopenia (low white blood count). No big concern, they are just keeping an eye on it.
