I just joined mylupusteam.com. I was diagnosed with SLE in late February 2016. Sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn't find an existing post specifically addressing this when I searched for it. But then I'm a bit technically challenged.
I'm on my second does of Methotrexate and started it almost two weeks ago. I've had four days in a row where I've felt amazingly good. I haven't felt this good in a year. Could the Methotrexate already be kicking in or is it probably just a coincidence… read more
Hi,
I had the hopeful wonderful feeling of what life could be like and I was ok with it and my MX 20 mg dose. Then I think it built up to a nausea I could not live with while slowly declining in affectiveness so now I am on injections, same dose. Nausea is way better. In total it's been 9 months. I still do not think I am where I need to be on the MX. Funny story, the pharmacist I was complaining to about sending me the wrong needles told me that I need to advocate better and when I see my doctor tell him MX is not working as you hoped so that you can get moved up to better medications that are more recent and have great success on this aggressive disease you gotta be aggressive! So that is my plan at my next appointment in two weeks. If MX is the answer, I am super happy for you and know we just gotta keep faith that you will find the right drug for you.
I'm on my 7th dose of methotrexate and have not noticed any difference. Still in pain. Just want it to go away.
It worked for me for awhile about 1yr. Now I am going to start infusions with Benlysta.
Just started Methotrexate and was amazed how well I felt the first few days after using (I take 4 on Tues each week). By Saturday I was miserable again. Looking forward to Tuesday for some relief.
I noticed a big difference a couple weeks in. Over time they had to keep upping dose and now I'm on max and it just no longer seems to work for me. Its just made me photosensitive to the point I can flare walking from work to car.
