Has anyone heard of Mild Lupus? My rheumatologist first diagnosed me with UCTD over 2 years ago. She added mild lupus as a diagnosis 2 months ago. She said "mild" is because my organs aren't involved. Some people have told me they've never heard of this but I did google it and saw many lupus sites say that lupus can be mild for some. Thank you to anyone who can reply!! Have a good day :)
Of course it can be mild, as it can be moderate and severe, depending on the severity of your symptoms
Mine is mild. The plaquinel keeps symptoms in check. My rheumy explained it has to do with presentation of symptoms. My kidney functions, cell counts, etc are all borderline. Only mild degenerative changes in joints. Nothing OTC meds can't take care of. I have all of the classic symptoms but they're manageable. I was also told if I continue a healthy lifestyle, it shouldn't get any worse!!
Do you have other symptoms? When I was diagnosed my rheum at the time was actually pretty reluctant to call it lupus at all and said "we will call it mild lupus for now". That was back in 2009. At the time my main symptom was chronic idiopathic urticaria. And then my ANA was positive and also I had double stranded DNA. It confused me as well because they say you need 4 of the 11 criteria and I did not. Since then I have had a flare with severe joint pain and also had protein in my urine from time to time. I am also very photosensitive now. Idk if all this is still considered "mild" lupus. Either way I still feel lucky that this is the worst I have experienced. Good luck to you! I hope it stays mild for you!
Mild lupus is not a beginning a stage......some people can have a mild form.....not involving organs......you lucky duck you !!!!!!! How fortunate you are!!! Some people with mild lupus don't even need to be treated...or only in a flare..or only see an episode or two in their lives....God bless your lucky soul !!!!!congrats to you for being so fortunate!!!!!!!
Mild is just the beginning stages hope you feel better soon ππ
