How does lupus effect those going through perimenopause, menopause, or those having their periods? Any info is appreciated. Thank you ;)
I go through night sweats (all day) but not as often. They cluster and I get migraines. I had to have ablation of my uterus because my perimenopause was so bad, I bleed heavy for two weeks and it would come back in 5 days and the cramps were so bad. I did not have anything wrong with my uterus but after 3 years of this and dealing with all the new lupus symptoms I reached a breaking point cause I wanted to just let my period stop naturally but I couldn't take it anymore. So in December 2012 I had the ablation and I haven't had my period since but it has not stopped sweats of perimenopause. Weird cause I had gone about 10 months without hot flashes and they started again. Drat, thought I was done with them. I get nasty migraines, and when my cycle was monthly, they would sync with my cycle but not every month. Now I get migraines a lot more. Not certain if this helped or not. But I think lupus plays into everything with our bodies.
My periods have always been a little strange, but since getting sick they have been off the chain. Usually will get spotting for a week, heavy bleeding and cramping the next week, then up to another few days of spotting with a little over a month between periods. I also, at 24, have been experiencing what I describe as a hot flash. Maybe 3 or so times a week. I am to the point where nothing really surprises me when it comes to my menstrual cycle
Lately ( in the past few months) I have also been experiencing the hot flashes, then chills, then nausea, and the past 2 nights have been throwing up. I felt okay during the daytime. It seems constant - burning up, then chills having to peel off clothing then Hot again. I had to take the medication to finish "cleaning out" my uterus as I will be going into menopause so that's why I am falling asleep a lot. I think my body is trying to have a period and I also have Hashimoto's. I am struggling on trying to heal from that and keep the lupus under control.
Thank you to you all for replying. I really appreciate it!
God Bless,

I would see your gynecologist and have them or your regular doctor check you for anti-phospholipid fact which is a blood clotting factor that can be check by blood work.
Well I was going through menopause at 54 when I got diagnosed last year... My period stopped In January this year... Still getting hot flashes, palpitations and such... Then after 9 months I got my period... I'm so dissapointed... I thought it was finished... I'm too old for that crap as well lol
