Has anybody else tried the AIP diet (autoimmune protocol)? If so do you have any AIP friendly tips to boost energy?
i have been on AIP since March. I find I generally feel better this way of eating. I have more energy, more mental clarity, better attitude, less joint pain, less muscle pain, fewer skin blemishes. The only thing i still deal with is neuropathy pain/burning, jaw tension/myofacial pain, and dry skin/mouth. For the Jaw tension i do acupuncture every other week which is the only thing that has given me relief from the pain. I still get the jaw pain but it's less frequent and the pain is more at a 2/3 than a 9/10 which is where it was before acupuncture. For the neuropathy, that only got worse for me over the last six months, so i had to add noritriptyline (20 mg at night). It helps. As far as the dry skin and mouth....nothing seems to help that. I moisturize two-three times a day, use a humidifier in the bedroom and i drink over 4 liters of water a day. That has no effect. I'm still covered in eczema and it's persistent. For the neuropathy and eczema i was thinking of combining the whals protocol with the autoimmune paleo/paleo - mainly i'd like to add juicing. I find i don't have issues with nuts so I added those in after three months on AIP. But i still avoid seeds and eggs.
I plan to give me more time. These took time to come on, so i imagine it will take time to reverse some of the symptoms through diet.
Hang in there!
Thanks for the help!
These diseases** took time to come on.. (is what i meant to say)
