Hi my Lupus family,

I have noticed that since the weather has been getting colder my body has been itching all over.

What do you guys recommend for me to take so that I'm not constantly itching?

Since my body is easily bruised I can see bruises where I have scratched.

I itch still... it is exhausting I had to wean myself off of the benadryl. I sometimes chew ginger root and garlic it helps it you can stand it . But I use the Aveeno Eczema Ointment / or Cera Ve Healing Ointment and the Aveeno Moisturizing ... I blend ointment and moisturizer put in it own container. Depending on which I need most I can use any one alone or mixed. But I still be needing a pill. My doctor just prescribed me something new I will update you all when I use. Because the itching is a whole debilitating issue in itself .... I am just saying it can be unbearable. If I get too warm It sets me off so I rarely can sleep with the heat on.
May we all be relieved of this symptom. I pray dear Most HIgh.

Oh, I forgot to add, African Shea butter. The white tub not yellow. The yellow is too greasy. It helps in the weather.

Grape seed oil is a great option for the skin issues. I used it on daughter's butterfly rash to fade it quickly. It helps with my perioral dermititis. Vit E oil also.

I have this problem, as well. I find that moisturizing with a good lotion, does help. At night when it gets really bad, as I get more tired, I usually end up taking a Benadryl or two. I also bruise quite easily and I found that a lotion that melts into my skin easily is better for me, that way I'm not rubbing my skin as much. I've also found that a moisturinzing bath gel when I shower helps the daytime itchiness for a while. Hope this helps.
