This is a great article. As for myself, I make sex and intimacy a priority. As a strong Christian, I believe God expects a married couple to use this gift to glorify Him. My husband is very conscious of my pain and is a very gentle and a passionate lover. Intimacy for me relaxes me, makes me less anxious, and helps me to feel closer with my husband and I know we are glorifying God. I've even written a bible study about why God created us as sexual beings and how certain parts of our bodies have no other purpose but to bring us pleasure and it glorifies Him. Even in a bad flare, we try to be intimate with no expectations and have become quite creative. I am 58 and still have a strong sex drive. My husband is 45. Meds do make it more difficult sometimes to get over the mountain but like the article says, then foreplay needs to be extended. Fatigue is always present but I just don't let it win. Because I have made intimacy such a priority, it has become easier to keep that spark alive and I look forward to our romantic nights.

I hope this gives some of you hope and ignites that fire again.

Love, joy, peace, blessings and hugs Debbie

For me my husband likes to stay up late and the energy is tapped by then. I find I have to make a special effort more than before but it is important as they are our support to keep that part of the relationship strong.
The other day I actually scheduled it mentally and made time for it when the kids were at practice so there could be a total focus on us. Great article @A MyLupusTeam Member
