Is an Infrared Sauna ok to use with lupus? I know they help with fibromyalgia but I can't find anything about infrared an lupus.
I have an infared sauna. I bought a 4 man one in Craigslist one day for $800 best money I ever spent !! I love the dry heat I heat mine to 130* for 50min it makes my joints and muscles feel so much better... takes away the achiness.... I'd be lost without it... I also purchased a message chair ...like that too but my fav is the sauna..... I think every lupus patient should have one π
Based in my experience get it you'll be glad you did .... good luck π
hi @A MyLupusTeam Member, its been a while since i heard from you, and i hope there are less concerns that last month and the month before that. How are the specialist findings?? As you are very sensitive to sun (day out to Rodeo) i suspect you are going to have problems with the infrared. It is a cousin of ultra violet, but i woudn't hav a clue about potential to create antibodies and make you feel miserable. I personally have risked a heated and steam sauna in a dark insulated scandinavian style sauna room. I have been able to sweat some toxins out of my skin, which is the reason for sweating in the first place. plus it moves lactic acid if there is any sore muscles due to working them (throwing firewood, or something else physical) Good luck, any way to relax and enjoy go for it. Let me know how you get on regards, Margaret
