My fatigue is out of control. I've had a rash now for about 5 months, with a 2 week span of clear skin in there. I've been on Imuran and steroids. Rheumy wants me to give this med 2-3 more weeks to work. If it doesn't improve, he is switching me to CellCept. I've fallen asleep at work, my home life is GONE. I sleep as soon as I get home. So discouraging. Two years ago, I was running half marathons. I'm not ready to accept this is my new normal. Hugs to all 💗

That's a big problem for so many of us. I've heard of the Provigil that Susan was talking about, but have never taken it. fabwheelie has some good recommendations = )
I'd have my iron and vitamin-D levels checked. My iron is low so I'm trying to eat more foods with iron in them. I had to take prescription vitamin-D once & now take a quality supplement. I've been consistently taking a vitamin-B Complex that seems to be helping not only my nervous system, but energy as well. When I eat better I have more energy too!!
I hope you find out what works best for you Deirdre = ) Hugs ~

oh Girl I feel your pain, sometimes you can get so exhausted and yet you can't fall asleep. I just don't fight it any longer. If you're tired then you NEED to rest. Get comfy on the couch with a book or movie and relax. There is a drug called Provigil which helps get you through the day, keeps you awake and focused, don't know if you are a candidate for it so check with your doctor. Good luck and take care of yourself. :)

I think taking a multivitamin, vitamin D, C and Calcium every day helps me. Eating fresh fruit and veggies too.

I always have some level of fatigue, but usually I can keep it manageable by having a good sleep routine. I think many of us with lupus always have some fatigue no matter what we do.

I can sleep quite well at night (allthough when I do wake I feel as if I have not slept). I've accepted that I need at least 10-12 hours sleep in order to function the rest of the time ... so these days I try to stick to a sleep routine that gives me that amount of sleep (but I don't let myself sleep for more than that as it doesn't actually help me) and I try not to beat myself up over sleeping so much.

I'm best to get my sleep all in one go, and not nap in day no matter how tired I feel. I also find going to bed before midnight ( and staying in bed even if I do get insomnia) works best for me

Also when I do some gentle exercise in day it usually helps me sleep better (I like water based exercise or a gentle walk) so I try do do some exercise most days even if it's only a short amount

It may also be worth speaking to your Dr about your treatment and pain management ... my exhaustion gets worse when I flare up and it took a while to get my treatment (particularly my pain meds) right for me
