I was seeing an integrative doctor in the Charleston South Carolina area for two years without any improvements. I am now living in the upstate area of Greenville South Carolina so I'm also closer to Western North Carolina. I have been considering finding a doctor of Integrative Medicine since my rheumatologist doesn't have a lot of suggestions for me. I have fibromyalgia SLE and Sjogren's. My old doctor diagnosed me with chronic Lyme's disease and was trying to boost my immune system. The only… read more

Try Kimberly Snyder's "Beauty Detox Foods." It's an excellent book (1st half) and cookbook (second half). She's vegan, but the recipes in this book are very good and very healthy. I've found going vegan, or at least vegetarian, you can alleviate a lot of symptoms and I believe you can even alleviate some of the progression.

I'm not a doctor, but I do recommend eating as healthy as you can and maintaining a healthy weight to the best of your ability while fighting this very frustrating disease.

I believe having a rheumatologist and a nutritionist is important. Good luck to you, I hope you feel better soon.

Interesting question. Not sure if we have that specialty in Canada. What is an Integrative Medicine doctor please?

@A MyLupusTeam Member: Here's a link to one of her recipe's: https://kimberlysnyder.com/blog/2017/09/05/appl...

Or, just go to KimberlySnyder.com, you can sign up to get free recipes. If you love them, and I think you will you can go out and get her book(s). I like her book "Beauty Detox Foods" because she tells you the qualities of each food. If you want specific results you can adjust your food to help (e.g., strong hair, more energy, better nails, etc.) because Kimberly does a good job of telling what vitamins, minerals, etc. each food provides, and she correlates it to how it will help your body.

Good luck, and enjoy the new recipes!

Thank you I will definitely check this book out. I've been a vegetarian for years but the vegan part is more difficult but I would be willing to do it if it would help me. It would definitely help to have some good recipes
