My tongue burns as if I burnt it with hot food. I know I didn't do that. The burning doesn't go away. It has lasted 3 days now. I see my Dr at the end of the week. I was just wondering if this is normal for lupus.

Hey! Lupus family , I've experienced the burning, dry, sore, and thickly coated and some time not coated tongue. I've been to two professional, schooled Doctors that just looked at my mouth with their naked eyes and said, no I don't see anything. Only to go to a new fresh pair of eyes " Dermatologist" to say that it may be Sojogren based on what I'm seeing and you've told me you're experiencing. Now I will do tests to check it out. I mean it's been since March that I first experienced this lateist bout with it. Maybe thrush or Sojogren but don't discount me or the symptoms I hope this helps

I do get the burning feeling on my tongue ๐Ÿ‘… a few hours later I notice a sore on my tongue. I ask my RA doctor if it's possible to get the sores on your tongue she said yes.

I have been experiencing the burning tongue effect for a couple months now. Very irritating. I sometimes am unable to eat because of it. Sipping water with each small mouthful helps a bit. The tongue itself appears quite cracked all over the front third. I will wait patiently (or impatiently) for this latest symptom to subside.

The very first symptom I experienced was the feeling that my lips (the inside part) and the tip of my tongue were on fire. They kept testing me for oral candidiasis and one nurse even told me I likely had HIV (I don't and I'm still mad at her for doing that to me). It still comes and goes and I haven't found a medication, including the ones for thrush that ever helped. Spicy foods and coffee makes it way worse tho.

I am not on anti-biotics. This has happened before and I forgot to ask my Dr because it was gone before I went to see her.
