I have a moderate perricardial effusion. Had my 2nd echo cardiogram test done today and waiting on results.

Yes I had pericarditis and two heart murmurs (aortic and mitral). The pericarditis was mainly prior to getting my lupus controlled. However, it did cause a lot of damage and I ended up having to get my heart valve (aortic) replaced in 2013 at the age of 26. I'm doing great w the new one now. Your doctor will monitor it. Mine was a severe case

Btw I can't take steroids (I go full on delusional... Good times!) Do you have fluid or just pain and inflammation? The fluid can be removed with a needle procedure and the pain from Pericarditis can actually be relieved by a regular over the counter Advil or alive (or more Mobic prescribed) as a matter of fact, this eases my mind bcuz when it helps I know for sure its Pericarditis. I have been told its not very dangerous, just hurts

Yes!! For 15 years (not murmur) Pericarditis was one of my first major symptoms. At first I would always go to er bc its bad chest pain. But now I know what it feels like, But for me I just get inflammation no fluid yet. And no heart murmur that I know of.. But every time I get the chest pain I have to try stretching and leaning foward if that helps OR makes it worse I know it's pericardits,
