Went to the Rheumatologist this morning and got very frustrated. He says no way there is Lupus with negative ANA. Then he called and said I was deficient in Vitamin D. This is new. Does anyone else ha
Yes, vit D deficiency was the first rock uncovered in my diagnosis trail, leading me to RA and SLE. I have taken 5000 IU vitamin D daily for ten years -- and my deficiency is finally gone. Most folks take less, but I've met MS sufferers who maintain remission by taking up to 10,000 IU of D. It's one of the many things needing attention when you suffer from autoimmune disease, I guess.

Do you have mthfr? If so, you might need a different form of folate.
Wow this sounds so familiar. Same problems. Taking meds for same diagnosis. Hugs to you
Yes. When you have lupus, you get vit D deficient by not having enough of the sunshine only because by being exposed, you will most likely trigger a flare, i.e. butterfly rash, rash on your body, hives, photosensitivity, etc. Also, when your Rheumy asks for your bloodwork, that's when he/she finds out when your vit.D deficient. I've been taking vit.D3 2,000 i.u. x1 gelcap daily to compensate for mine.
