I've been having migrains for weeks and take imitrex. Lately I've been taking an Anahistamines every day and it lessened my headache. Has anyone else tried this and do you know how much can a person take and will it affect the lupus?
It is possible to have allergy related migraines. Sometimes, its only a sinus headache but its so painful that we think its a migraine. I have definitely found that an antihistamine helps, but to do steam with a humidifier or a pot of water, and to drink lots of water. It will pass. If not, go to the ER and get an imitrex shot (you wil need someone to drive you home) and then do the antihistamine regimen. I hope you are having way less migraines these day...they are terrible :(
I don't know about this but I've been taking magnesium nightly and it has decreased my headaches greatly and it's safe to take everyday. I know it's not the original question u asked but just wanted to share what works for my headaches
The sinus are clear. I have no nasel or sinus congestion. Its my body reacting to what it feels is foreign such as foods that cause inflammation. It gets worse when the lupus flavors up. I know they are connected since my mom had the same problem with her lupus. The anahistamines seem to keep my body from responding in a negative manor to external influences that trigger the lupus and reduces the headache.
