I’m going to see the rheumatologist in a few weeks due to positive Ana (1:160 titer , homogeneous pattern). Went in for blood work to check my thyroid levels as I was feeling very similar to what I was when first diagnosed hypothyroid a few years ago. Very fatigued, vertigo, brain fog, so I was thinking my meds may need adjusting. My thyroid levels are great but the Ana was positive. My hypothyroidism was discovered while trying to find to cause of vertigo flares, which come and go. Went… read more
I have vertigo for 5 years, just finished all the testing, getting answers next week. Have Hashimotos disease, Neuropathy (causes muscle pain, spasms mainly at night). Have undiagnosed auto immune disease possibly RA or Lupus...I live with fatigue, numbness, muscle pain. Taking Gabapentin for neuropathy, my new Rheumo Dr prescribed Plaquenil but I have not started taking it, I want a final diagnosis first. My mom passedmof Lupus she was pregnant with me at the time she had it, back then there were no treatments for it. I do have positive ANA
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the responses. I’m just ready to get to the bottom of this reoccurring vertigo, and now the retinal issues is a whole other ballgame! I go back to the eye dr in December and hopefully the retinal hemorrhages are gone. If not, it’s off to the retinal specialist. Everyone take care!
Hello! I get vertigo and my equilibrium is off at times. When I am flaring it gets worse. Also I believe mine is connected to my migraines. I can get silent migraines where I just get the aura or vertigo or photosensitivity without a full blown throbbing pain. Our brains can get overstimulated and inflammed too. Acpuncture has helped alot with that. Keeps the migraines down along with the vertigo. Peace....
I had thyroid cancer and a removal of my thyroid. Oddly, I had a voice box nerve cut during the surgery and now have a horse voice that weakens if I speak for longer periods of time. I have to drink a good bit of liquid after I sleep or hubby describes my voice like that of a drunk person. My thyroid medication did not increase after my thyroid surgery. I had not experienced a change in levels in 2 years prior.
