I woke up today with my lower right eyelid swollen and in pain.
Recently, I was diagnosed with Chronic Dry Eye and Arthritis of the Eyes (due to lupus). It's the weekend, so I am unsure if it is urgent enough to go to the ER, or if I should wait until Monday for Urgent Care....? Additionally, I had Orbital Cellulitis as a child, but that is typically brought on by infection.
I have sjogrens not sure of spelling but you should see an ophthalmologist they neef to examine behind your eye. I use rosasus eue drops and wear glasses to strenthen the muscle in my damaged eye. If your eye is swollen it could be infection you may want to see doctor ASP
Do you use drops for your dry eyes? They really help. I have never heard of arthritis of the eyes. Dry eyes can be related to Lupus, it is call Sjodgren disease. I am not sure I spelled that right.
I hope by now you have seen a dr or will if still swollen don’t loose your eye when it can be avoided! Serious stuff!
I have both sjodgren and rhynard disease. My eyes give me so much trouble. My left eye is always swollen and feels stiff. I have to use eye drops all the time.
Yes,my Ophthalmologist prescribed me artificial tears, ointment, and Ristasis. These have worked to help with the dry eye, but not with the swelling I've been experiencing today. I even took an allergy pill in case it was due to allergies (not a usual occurrence for me).
