I am wondering if anyone suffers insane insomnia with their illness. I personally have gone as long as 8 days (without coffee or stimulants) and I just recently came off of a 5 or 6 day stretch. It gets really hard to remember those kinds of details.
That is not good. Not not not. I recently could not sleep for seven nights due confusion w/ my pharmacy. I could barely feed myself or take minimal care of myself. I lost a pound a day and was sick as a dog. I don't know how you're doing it. people can die from not sleeping. Thirtyish yrs ago a doctor gave me a prescription for depression, but to help me sleep. If he had just told me to get more sleep I would have set my clock different and gotten to bed earlier. Soooo...--now I'm hooked on it and don't sleep without it. I have reduced gradually the amt but can only go down so far before it doesn't work. I would recommend talking w/ your dr about something you could take that wouldn't be habit forming. You may have to try different ones to find one that works, but, gee, do something more than what you are doing now. Good luck to you. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
That is obscene! Lol I am glad you are doing better......I am looking forward to stabilizing/re-normalizing.
I've shared this before, but I found this useful.
Tryptophan is the amino acid the body uses to make the feel-good and relaxation neurotransmitter serotonin. Pumpkin seeds also contain high amounts of zinc, which can help the brain convert tryptophan into serotonin. Serotonin levels are typically low in people who cannot stay asleep and wake throughout the night.
Let me know if this helps you out. You can Google how much you need to take and how to make it in a hot tea with cinnamon and honey mixed together. Also Google cinnamon and honey because they can help you with different things concerning lupus.
