Yes because the lupus affects the brain and the signal that tells you to go into REM sleep quits working. I know I don't sleep without sleep meds. There is also the problem with adrenal function and if it's not right the hormones that regulate your sleep/wake cycle are off and that also messes up lupus patients sleep.
They are different for everyone, but joint pain, paracarditis, pancreatitis, pleurisy, kidney damage, brain issues, some of us have blood clotting issues, these are just some of the things that can happen. I would say it's just like if your body was a kamikaze pilot and you are it's target, killing itself because it thinks your organs are an invasion. I'm not sure this answers your question.
Yes, SLE does causes insomnia. Our body is constantly being bombarded with inflammation and joint pain, we are don't get the proper rem sleep, thus, irritability, fatigue, depressed mood, pain, and cognitive dysfunction (brain fog).
Yes it happened to me a lot. I took it all nothing worked. I truly went back to church and found Jesus. I am being honest I read the bible or a book before bed and I have been sleeping on contact .. Not going to lie my joints hurt especially my neck area but I pray and read healing verses and I believe in the power of prayer and my prayers get answered
Yep, SLE is a real chameleon, because it can change from one symptom attacking one organ to another very, very quickly!
Best wishes to our fellow Lupus Lovlies.
Hope you are having a good day today.
