I have had test for Lupus and all came back negative. I went for a biopsy and was told it showed Lupus so they sent me for another biopsy to confirm and it showed lichen planus. Why did the first biopsy show lupus and 2nd show lichen planus? The doctor informed me that Hep C goes with Lichen Planus so now I am going for blood work for Hep C. I have had Hep C test before and all negative. She said she is confused why the tests would be different and that I don't have kidney problems or a… read more

Just because all of your tests are coming back normal, would just say to me that you're not in a flare. There is not just 1 single test that tells you that you have lupus. It's a lot of tests combined together along with certain symptoms which diagnoses lupus. The biopsy on the other hand definitely cannot lie as far as lupus is concerned. Lichen Planus is an inflammatory disease which is lupus related because when lupus flares, it's usually due to inflammation. There are a lot of types of lupus.

With lupus, you will soon learn that you always find yourself hurrying up, only to wait on something or someone. Lol.

Did your doctor give you any prescription for the rash? If so, I would get that and use it. I can offer a weird tip, but it works. Get you some pure honey and test out a little bit of honey on a small portion of your rash and see if that helps heal it. It does work and it's all natural. Let me know if this works for you and please reply so I can know how you're doing.

I'm gonna add you to my team.

I'm very happy that the honey is helping. Keep trying this until you can see your dermatologist and rheumatologist. Please mention to either doctor about starting you on plaquenil. That's very important to keep lupus from flaring in an organ.

In the meantime, just take a deep breath and keep pushing forward

Ok thank you, this makes sense to me. I was not given anything for the rash but I would prefer to try the honey. I will let you know how it works
