I will have to talk to my doctor about it. I go see him this Wednesday. Going to write it down so I won't forget. I am really bad about doing things like that.

I googled & they all pretty much say this:
People age 50 and older can now get Merck's Zostavax shingles vaccine.
The vaccine already was approved for people age 60 and older. The approval is based on a Merck clinical trial that showed the vaccine to be about 70% effective in preventing shingles in the younger age group.
The study also found that even when vaccinated 50-somethings did get shingles, they suffered far less pain and far shorter bouts of the painful, sometimes disabling disease.

I got it down my face and into my eye... was horrific but dr. Put me on meds eye drops ETC and cleared quite quickly.. got it from chicken pox virus that was in my household

I’ve had shingles, medication definitely helped. My shingles ran under my breast and around my right side - affected my ribs- extremely painful. I haven’t had the rash again but still become symptomatic from time to time and have to get back on the medication. Less stress and lots of rest... I know that’s difficult for many to do... so we do the best we can.

Usually you get them from having chicken poxs your only contagious for people who have never had chicken pox
