MRI shows bulging disc in Cervical spine but not in thoraic spine. Says the nerve pain isn't from that as it isn't compressing on the spinal cord etc. I asked if it was Lupus related and he said it would be more nerves. I burn from the neck thru my upper back and arms. He put me on 600 mgs of Horizant (Gabapentin). See him in 3 months. Diagnosed as neuralgia. (Also have to get insurance co to approve drug).. but been taking samples.
I have to take amitriptyline for my neuropathy in my fingers. My rheumatologist said it's from my lupus. I got a burning sensation in my pointer finger, hurt like he**. But the med helps.
My arms go in and out of numbness, my neck and shoulders are always in pain, and my lower back won't cut me a break. Lol it's so nice to just let it all out. I feel guilty or bad when I complain about it to my husband 😕
@A MyLupusTeam Member I don't have fibromyalgia. That is funny my burning is around there too. Also down my arms. I have no idea what causes it. The meds are helping a little. This morning I woke up burning.
I have severe pain in my upper back. And burning sensation from bra closure area up though neck. I haven't associated that pain with my Lupus. I have Fibromyalgia as well and that is what the nerve pain is from and why I take Gabapentin. Are you sure that this is the case for you as well. A lot of people with lupus also have Fibromyalgia.?
Hope the meds is helping you @A MyLupusTeam Member Sounds like what I have in my cervical spine area. So I don't know what to think anymore. So you only have it in your fingers?
