I was diagnosed with SLE in 2005 and Sjorgren's syndrome in 2012. I was on benlysta for almost 2 years to help control my lupus symtoms. It did help me to get better during the time I took it. I had to stop because of side affects.
My body is sensitive to many meds, so have to change often.
I am still taking cellcept along with an antiviral med because the cellcept gave me shingles.
I did find the benlysta to be helpful for the time I needed it.

You are your best advocate when it comes to your body. I have certainly learned that since my diagnosis in 1991.
Benlysta is a strong drug and is usually used when lupus symptoms can not be controlled by other meds.

Thank you, @A MyLupusTeam Member. I need to do some research. I feel i do perfectly well with plaquenil alone as my lupus is mild compared to that of many others. I feel that my doc is focusing only on my lab results and not my day to day symptoms. My hematologist feels that I don't need prednisone or cellcept, and he is not too concerned with my low wbc unless I have frequent infections. I may need another rheumatologist's opinion.
