I had Gazyva in 2020 and again in 2025 to treat my SLL-a walking leukemia. First time it was fine--six infusions about a month apart; second time was very hard on my infusion vein. I have no idea how Gazyva is usually given for lupus. I'm in my late 60's --it's my daughter who has lupus. She is doing well on Benlysta and hydrocloroquin (sp?) and heads to Iceland next month!

I did try Benlysta and it lowered my white blood cells count very low my doctor took me off of it. It was expensive and used the financial help they offered.
Unfortunately I'm not a candidate for Benlysta. My Dr said it's really for people who's SLE is so severe they experience a lot of hospitalizations. Plus, it's super expensive. 4 self injectors are over $600 and require injection once a week so math wise that's exhorbinit. Benlysta does have a program that helps with the cost which in some cases can be as low as $25/mo. What is disturbing about medications designed to help, always create side effects causing additional problems.
Have you or others tried Gazyva (obinutuzumab) for lupus, and what side effects did you experience?
The search results don't include specific information about Gazyva for lupus treatment. However, they do mention similar biologic therapies used for lupus.
