I know i had a mini stroke yet the ER says the CT scan and MRI do not show findings of one. Anyone experience the same thing?

Thanks!

I have 8 ischemic strokes and cannot talk nor use my entire right side and each time am in the CCU for three days however the CAT scans and MRIs never show anything. They cannot understand why the tests never show anything. The neurologists and other doctors are really puzzled as to why?? You are not alone as I understand that knowing this is happening but tests not showing anything as it is frustrating but know that the stroke is real.

I had a stroke at 32..lupus ppl do suffer strokes I understand ..yours could be TIA or small seizures they’re almost the same symptoms.TIA are warnings to usually a larger stroke be careful please. My sister has lupus also and she’s had what Drs call anxiety attacks that look like a small stroke or TIA but they don’t show on an mri for her.Drs say hers is anxiety ..when she has them she can’t talk, her hands are numb, her face drops a little ...it’s a scary scene to watch..check your blood sugar also.I have low blood sugar and if I’m not eating adequately my sugar dips to low and I will have a seizure, headache, sweats, get mixed up ...good luck take care of yourself 💜

I had 2 TIAs misdiagnosed as vertigo. Then I had an ischemic stroke. I've had 2 additional strokes between 1st stroke 4/22 and 12/23. I was told that TIAs don't show on MRI or CAT scans. They are warning signs of a possible stroke. My neuro, cardiologist and Rhuemy all have no idea why I've had the strokes as all testing etc is normal, and I was even cleared for a TKR the day before my stroke. Hang in there. Be your own advocate and press for answers when you don't feel heard. Life is hard and these diseases are even harder, but WE ARE WARRIORS and will prevail! Be well.

I had the same experience. They believed it was a TIA but couldn’t confirm it.

You can buy one otc at a pharmacy and the strips however they are very expensive to buy them that way. If you are diabetic you can get a free device and strips are minimal cost if you ask your dr. to give you an rx or most of the time them have them at their office.
