So next month I will be getting the spinal cord stimulator trial done. I’m pretty nervous for the fact I always have a flare after surgery. And I’m always in pain as it is, so I’m sure it’s going to be very painful for me. Has anyone had any success for lower back pain with the spinal cord stimulator?

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I have had mine for almost two years now. It has been amazing and so so worth it. It has changed my life. You will not regret this. I had pain the day I came home, I have a Dr that believes highly in pain meds. I just really felt pain that first 24 hours then it was just a matter of healing . I easily get flares for a couple of reasons, change of weather, change of environment, if I get sick/surgery. I didn't get one but I may not have really felt it the way I was medicated. It takes a bit to get used to charging yourself up every once in a while.

Getting off the pain meds were my main goal too but once the intensity of the back was removed, I felt all the pain from the Psoriatic Arthritis and the Lupus plus the fibro that I stayed on the pain meds. I don't need it for my back just for every thing else 😣 but at least I can walk and sit without severe issues. Once you do the trial please let me know how you feel about it if you don't mind.

You know I was actually thinking that too once my back pain would subside what am I gonna feel from the lupus, RA, or fibromyalgia! But I’ll have to wait and see. Still haven’t heard anything about my appeal for surgery. And most definitely I will keep you posted on my trial when I get it done😊

@A MyLupusTeam Member Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I actually was supposed to have it done last Wednesday but my insurance decided to deny me. So I have been calling harassing me insurance company every day until they approve my trial. So hopefully by the end of this month they approve me and I’ll be getting it done. I’m so tired of pain meds. My main goal is to get off of that.
