I was recently diagnosed with Systemic Lupus a few months ago. I have no doubt that I have Lupus I have been test 3 times and confirmed by 2 doctors and the Rheumatologist PA. However, when ever I have symptoms such as wrist, hand, back pain; thyroid nodules, pains and needles sensations in my hand and feet, swelling ,I am told by my Pcp, Rheumatologist PA, that those symptoms are not due to Lupus. So I am not receiving any treatment. My concern is with all the outward symptoms what is… read more

It is low dose naltrexone. It's not approved by the FDA for autoimmune but has a 90% success rate with all of them. It works by naturally increasing the endorphins in your body to fight the immune system that's attacking you. No real side effects and it doesn't suppress your immune system... which is obviously dangerous. It's also one pill a day and costs about a $1 a day. There is a ton of research online if you Google it but it's the safest thing you can take that helps many people.

Those are all symptoms of lupus. I would highly recommend finding a DO doctor to help you mange this. It can be extremely frustrating with a Rhuemetologist. They dont typically look at the whole body. There are many options out there without suppressing your immune system. I take LDN and Plaquenil. Lupus draws a lot of supplements from your body so its a good idea to take those as well.

I see both Dr Kruez and PA Lana. I am comfortable w/ the doctor, I just wanted to make sure he was prescribing me the right meds before I started. I personal was hoping he was wrong cause I don't like taking that stuff but according to Mayo he was right and this is my new life!

I was diagnosed w/ Lupus many years ago, it was kind of a fluke thing. For over 10 yrs I've not had any issues but I always went to the Rheumatologist to check my blood work. Last year I started getting pain in my wrist, then shoulders and knees and so on. My rheumatologist started me on a prescription, pain continued to get worse. He then prescribed Methotrexate. I thought he's just guessing and I need help now so I got a second opinion at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. When the best in the world confirm everything your Dr. Says it's time to believe! I am currently waiting on my appt to go back to my Rheumatologist to start the meds. Th ave offices all over the valley. AZ Arthritis is their name. Good luck!

May be a good idea to see another Dr. Don't let them just dismiss your symptoms and pain like so many Drs do. I was diagnosed several years ago with Fibromyalgia and told to learn to deal with it. I had pain, swelling and fatigue most of the time. I changed primary drs and he decided to run every blood test he could think of and it came back with a Lupus diagnosis. He sent me to a rheumatologist that said I probably had Lupus all along but the first dr never tested me for anything.
