Lupus And Eating

Lupus And Eating

Does anyone have a hard time a hard time eating because your nausea and everything makes you wanna throw and food in general doesn’t seem appealing. Like I want to eat cuz I know nutrition is important but the though of eating makes me want to throw and food doesn’t apeal to me. Some days I can eat pretty good but most days I find my self I not wanting food.

what I learned for myself is that plaquenil makes my stomach too acidic, which turns me off to eating. So I cut out acidic food. Almond milk is alkaline so I use this a lot. Raw or lightly cooked veggies are alkaline, but frozen veggies are not. Milk is slightly acidic. I had to study the foods I eat to create a more alkaline diet and this really has helped me eat and feel better. Ironically many of the traditional foods I think of as mild and comforting turned out to be not alkaline. Hope you feel better soon.

Try eating plain yogurt. The days when I’m nauseated I’ll eat chicken noodle soup frozen fruit. I also find that ginger ale helps. Hot cup of green tea.

I have no appetite especially when the weather is extremely hot.

You can freeze grapes oranges fresh peaches.

Right now I am eating grapes and watermelon mostly. It sits well with me. I do not eat much at any one time. I graze throughout the day.

I agree with KarenBrownSupert... Nausea is almost as bad as vomiting. I have not had that too often lately, but would take it back... I am in HORRIBLE pain almost 24/7. Ask for more prednisone but was told no. Was given pain meds, but they are apparently not strong enough. They do allow me to get a few things done for a few hours though.
