Can someone explain the screen by crithidia? I have a negative but positive ANA and AntiDNA.
I’ve recenty been researching the different testing methods. It looks like most labs first test by Elisa but then confirm the results by following up with more precision testing as the Elisa can give inaccurate results
So it’s not unheard of that you were positive but the confirmation testing contradicted those results
I would be confused too if I were you. And I’d still wonder which tests were right
My Anti-ds dna positive & positive ANA but RA negative despite inflamation. new doc said Lupus flaring. Confusing me.
Ana is positive. Anti DNA positive. The doctor then did the screen by crithidia and it was negative. Does that negative show that it is not Lupus?
Symptoms include
Hair loss
Low grade fevers
Fatigue
Joint swelling especially hands and feet
Have them check your RNP if they havent already - mixed connective tissue disorder - give it a read. Good luck!
Paula, the RA test is specific for Rheumatoid Arthritis. You’re not expected to have a positive RA test with Lupus
Your positive ANA and dsDNA is typical for Lupus. Lupus creates inflammation and during a flare the inflammation would increase and can attack different areas of the body
You results are pretty normal for someone with Lupus
