Does anyone have inflammation or joint pain in a shoulder ? When i had gone to the doctor i was told i have a kinked nerve in my shoulder but its never effected me until now. I woke up with my shoulder and neck hurting to the point where i cant lift my arm above my chest. Has this happened to anyone else ?

This is usually due to a "pinched nerve". When you wake up with it, most of the time it is because you slept in a way that was "wrong" so to speak. It will normally work it's way out with some gentle stretching. If there is some inflammation involved, once the inflammation goes down, the pressure on the nerve will be relieved and it will be a lot better. Inflammation is usually treated with NSAIDS like ibuprofen, naproxen, etc. Sometimes with corticosteroids like prednisone. I hope you get to feeling better.

I've had inflammation in shoulder. But it was around the tendon. Wouldn't allow scoulder to move on its own. Injection of Kenalog and Marracain. Then physical therapy. Shoulder creaks grinds and cracks. And has flare ups. Cant do anything repetitive.

Yes and it was a torn rotator cuff. So check into that. Either my prednisone or the lupus caused my muscles to be so weak that the stitches just tore thru them.

I have severe neck pain that travels to both shoulders and radiates further down to hands and fingers. Mine is due to degenerative disease in my cervical spine, 4 levels. I've had one hip and both knees replaced -- not bad for 45+ years with SLE!

I'm praying that you can get your pain under control and have better range of motion...

I also use alternative medicine treatments reccommended by my Pain Management Clinic M.D.
