Has anybody had weird issues with older tattoos raising up out of the blue or when their autoimmune issues are flaring up?
I have discoid lupus and the only time this has happened is when I was also getting lesions on my face, scalp, chest, lip, ears, nose, and inside my mouth. It's all been at the same time. I did not have a reaction during or immediately after getting tattooed. Nothing at all.

This happens to me all the time!!! I can trace the lines with my fingers!! Not sure if its related, but nice to hear I'm not the only one this happens to.
I have one tiny spot on mine that raises when I am having a bad flare. I too started out with
Discoid Lupus but now have Systemic Lupus too.
Yes...I itch so bad on the parts of my tattoos that are raised (when they are raised)! I also have noticed that this happens to me in mild flares. I’m super flared up right now and the tattoos are fine...I think our bodies can attack the ink whenever they feel like it unfortunately 🙁. My itch attacks only last for about 48 hours at a time. Hope this helps and you feel better!!
This happens to me too!!! I thought I was nuts! I did notice it only happens when I’m feeling flared...glad I’m not alone in this!
I don't have DLE but I do have SLE and I did notice my tattoo gets raised whenever I flare
