What fruits and vegetables are in season?

Written by MyLupusTeam

One way to eat a healthier diet and include more fruits and vegetables is to eat what’s seasonally available. There’s a farmer’s market close to the office, so this past week's purchases were a cantaloupe, some basil, a couple of peaches. Time for grilled cantaloupe!

An easy recipe starting with grilling the cantaloupe and cooking the peaches in a little apple cider vinegar (with a small bit of sugar). The cooking down of the ingredients made a lovely tart and sweet sauce.

Here are recent conversations about recipes:

"Been a good day overall. Joints still swollen and painful, but I was able to make stuffed peppers and try a new recipe and made Cream Cheese Strawberry Cookies with White Chocolate Chips. Baking is one of my fav hobbies...that and reading."

"I made something called Crack Slaw which is so easy peasy and good."

"T
rying new eating: making pulled pork with fresh rosemary, sage, green onion, Himalayan salt, lemon, fresh carrots, cranberries, greens: kale, spinach, turnip greens."

Trying new recipes and new, seasonal vegetables can be a lot of fun! What are some vegetables and fruits currently in season that you might want to try? Would you make this recipe or what would you change to fit your diet? Comment below.
