I had a urinalysis done and my protein was negative but I have RBC in my urine. I have urine dipstick test at home and sometimes I check my urine at home. When I check it at home it was positive. I’m scared to say something to my doctor because I don’t want to look like Hyprochondraic. Do you think I should say something or just wait to see what it is at the next visit which is in May?

Call your Drs Office and leave the following information. " I checked urine on a home test... It showed positive RBC....is this something to be concerned about" ?. Dr. Will read note. Tell staff to have you get a urine for culture or not a concern .....call if any other symptoms arrise. It is a normal call. Never worry about being a hypochondriac.... Just keep questions clear ..not hysterical.
Good luck..Hugzzz

Is your dipstick saying positive when the doctor office is saying negative on the same day? It could be the days at your doctor, your urine may be negative for protein. It could also be the brand you use or maybe the box you have is expired. You won’t look like a hypochondriac unless you call daily with a new problem lol Calling and explaining your home test keeps showing you something can help them explain which home to test to try or why their results may differ. They may want to see your urine again too. It’s good to call!

@A MyLupusTeam Member I have been having RBC in my urine for a year and a 1/2 even when checked microscope but I’m more concern about the protein since I’ve had a 24 hour urine in the past the was really high. When I did my last urinalysis my protein was negative but when I check it at home it was positive.

I agree with Rholeepolee. It could be nothing. Best to get it checked by the lab, if it still shows some rbc it could be lots of things
