Has anyone ever had Lichen Planus in connection with Lupus or Lupus meds? It began as a rash on the top of my foot. It then traveled to the bottom of my foot. I had a biopsy and the results were...Lichen Plantus. I have no idea, why. The dermatologist believes it could be medication related. My primary had no idea what she was looking at. Please, any help would be appreciated. It seems like there is always something new popping up since my diagnosis.
btw..I did get a flu shot and that was about the same time the lichen planus appeared 🤷♀️ I may opt out next year and take my chances. This was my first flu shot also.
Same here as @A MyLupusTeam Member. Diagnosed cutaneous lupus and 6m later lichen planus.. steroids, antihistamines
Thank you so very much. Yes, I'm on an antihistamine and topical solution.
I had lichen planus several times throughout my life prior to lupus diagnosis. It is autoimmune related. The first time I was treated with steroids for almost a year. The other times steroids for a shorter time. I also had to take an antihistamine for the itching and use a topical ointment my dermatologist prescribed. A good dermatologist can help determine if it’s related to your medications.
Hope you get to the root of it and it clears up quickly.
Should have said derm (dermatologist). Lol
