I was super physically active before lupus. Now all I can do is go to work, and that.is a huge accomplishment. I'm tired of doctors and we'll meaning people who suggested exercise. They don't live with our fatigue or pain. My sister is the biggest pain about it. She weighs 100 pounds soaking wet. My father is a fat phobic person and my weight gain has really bothered him. I feel so judged.

I gained over 88 lb in 4 years. Shocking beyond belief. I had a massive melt down and decided to take my self of medication I knew was not working… 18 month down the line I have lost 66 lb. Still
Some To go but feeling the benefit. Not easy loosing as exercise not normal. Only thing I can do is swim. But that has taken months to achieve. Walking in water, stretching in water every day is how I started. I now swim every day and continuously monitor my food intake. Prior to being diagnosed I was a size 8/10 ended up 16/18. A horrific journey that is a long way from over 😪

I’ve gained 30 pounds and I hate it. I didn’t have any troubles until Predisone and Cymbalta. I do great with the Plaquenil. I’m looking for other meds that may be better.

Right way to go. Now start walking little bits everyday and work up to physical therapy even in a swimming pool????

Trish4 I started the fatigue in December of last year. I weighed 128-130lbs once I was diagnosed in March of this year. In 2 weeks I had gained 8 pounds and I got very depressed that I lost my appetite to eat. I was to scared to gain more weight. I am at 152 pounds right now. I was told by my doctor that the gain weight comes with the lupus. It's not because we eat more. It's due to the inflammation. The inflammation is our extra weight. If we eat the right foods that don't trigger inflammation we would decrease the weight. I have tried it and the Dr. Was right. It's just difficult to stay on it 100 percent.i also have a hormone unbalance. Which found out there's a mass on my right side of the thyroid. But the Dr. Can't get a biopsy done because they say it is to small to do a biopsy on it. So I am taking medication for it. Don't over work yourself about the weight. True friends and boyfriend/husband should love you for who you are. Thin or not. My biggest task was to learn to love the new me. And accept myself with all my health issues. To know and learn how to take care of my new me....take care
