Out of curiosity, when you are having a flare and are given prednisone, what dose is being prescribed?

It depends on the situation. For uncomfortable situations, usually 5 2xs a day. For severe inflammation in the lungs 20 2xs a day for 3 days then tapered. On my own in Europe with a knee so swollen and painful I couldn't walk, I had reserves and did 10 2xs a day then 5. What a miracle drug for short term use. I don't recommend self medicating, but I talked it over with my doc before I left.
