I have a mild/borderline cutaneous Lupus overlapping with Vasculitis diagnosis - new since December last year. I take the lowest dose of Plaquenil and 5 mg Prednisone daily, along with aspirin and a low dose of amlodipine for the Raynaud's (which effects my fingers but not really my feet). I don't have too many symptoms other than joint discomfort and fatigue, and occasional ribcage discomfort for maybe a day, if that - and also symptoms that mimic (or are) menopausal like face flushing and hot… read more

I actually did ask about MCTD specifically. She said definitely not according to all the bloodwork or my signs/symptoms. We both think something will likely show itself in the bloodwork in the future to give a more definitive diagnosis. For now - it mostly feels like menopause symptoms and nerve irritation in my feet and the Raynaud's & puffiness in my fingers on & off day & night. That is the most annoying symptom for me.

I do see a rheumatologist and have had a ton of bloodwork every month for the past 6 months plus MRIs, CTs, Echo, Nuc, Xrays, etc. she said I'm a perplexing case because I do not have SLE but also don't have a lot of signs for cutaneous lupus. She says I don't fit into any clear cut diagnosis. I had a biopsy that confirmed Vasculitis (the hand and feet rash with that came about after I contracted the parvo virus from our grandson last summer). I also have UC - have had that for 20 yrs with very few problems. The blood tests do determine what I don't have - but it definitely is some overlapping AI dz that points to lupus and the vasculitis for sure. I'm a mixed bag.. that isn't yet defined.

I wonder that too. This warmish-tingly odd sensation seems to be in the skin. I'm guessing it could just be a mixed bag of all this fun my body is throwing at me... I've been on the meds for a few months - I just wonder if my hormones are at a high or low that could be triggering this feeling.. ?? It's more annoying than anything at this point. I sure hope it isn't the initial sign of something more sinister... praying it isn't!
