While at work this week in the morning I notice a bruise on my forearm. Then yesterday I had another one under my right arm near my elbow. Has anybody had any unexplained bruising? Thanks
Yes, Lupus can impact your vascular structure and function. This is the constant for me as I have a blood clotting disease - factor 13 (missing clotting fibrin). Prednisone is known for thinning skin, Vitamin C deficiency causes bruising and NSAIDs contribute as well. Brian, a Hematologist could do the workup to determine if there are underlying issues. Hope you find out what's causing this for your peace of mind.
When I start bruising like that it has to do with my clotting factors now since I am not taking any aspirin or ibuprofen or aleeve. I alternate between clotting or bleeding, so, it's a little nuts. It has something to do with the level of vitamin k and other clotting factors. If you aren't taking any NSAIDs, you probably need to see about getting labs drawn
I bruise all the time. I have to be so careful. I also sometimes wake up with a new bruise π€·ββοΈ it is strange.
I can go to bed and wake up the next day wit bruises and have no idea how I got them
Prednisone (cortisteroids) also causes bruising.
