Monsey, NY

I don't remember hurting myself and it's a big bruise. Hard little nodule at the center. Back of my right wrist. I'm not on blood thinners.

It's very unlikely to be a blood clot, Donna, since these usually start in the legs and may travel to the lungs. But please have it checked out and keep us posted.

Thanks, @A MyLupusTeam Member, it seems like only the one place. I'll let my rheumatologist know too. I don't think it's medication. I'm not on steroids at the moment. Thanks! I was on a plane when I noticed it and wondered whether I "threw a clot." It's weird!

@A MyLupusTeam Member I do have a hematologist. Didn't think of calling them!

Thrombocytopenia (low platelets) can cause this and may result from lupus or, less commonly, a medication side effect. Steroids can also cause easy bruising. If it's alarmingly large, or if you have bruising/bleeding elsewhere, please see your doctor for lab testing, Donna.😘

Yes, especially if you have Antiphospholipidsyndrome or Factor V Leiden Mutation or other Thrombophilias. Do you have a Hematologist @A MyLupusTeam Member?
