I just started back this week and the recovery time from exercising to me has been terrible. I usually am already fatigued but since working out a feel like it is twice as bad and that i could literally fall asleep anywhere but everyone is different maybe start out with light cardio

Starting a workout routine after a lupus diagnosis can be challenging but beneficial. Here are some steps to help you get back into it:

1. Consult Your Doctor: Always check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise regimen. They can help you determine a safe and effective plan tailored to your needs.

2. Start Slowly: Begin with gentle exercises like walking, stretching, or yoga. These can help improve flexibility, strength, and range of motion without putting too much strain on your body.

3. Incorporate Variety:
- Aerobic Exercise: Activities like dancing, walking on a treadmill, or swimming can improve heart and lung health.
- Resistance Training: Light weight-lifting can build muscle strength and healthy bones.
- Gentle Martial Arts: Tai chi or qi gong can improve balance, posture, and promote relaxation.

4. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of cool, caffeine-free liquids during your workouts.

5. Warm-Up and Cool Down: Always begin with a gradual warm-up and take time to cool down afterward to prevent sore or pulled muscles.

6. Find Enjoyable Activities: Choose exercises you enjoy to stay motivated. Consider joining a class for social interaction and support.

7. Track Your Progress: Keep a record of foods that bother you and exercises you can do pain-free. This can help you manage your symptoms better.

8. Short-Term Rewards: Set small, achievable goals and reward yourself for meeting them to stay motivated.

9. Adjust as Needed: If you experience new or worsening lupus symptoms, adjust your workout program to keep it safe and rewarding.

10. Seek Support: Connect with others who understand your condition for encouragement and advice.

By following these steps, you can safely and effectively get back into a workout routine and work towards your weight loss goals.
