How's your mouth? I've had 2 failed root canals so 4 root canals on 2 teeth leading to one extraction and many cavaties despite my efforts. And does anyone else get frequant canker sores? Anything I can do to help them? I have a canker sore on one side and healing gums from the pulled tooth on the other so eating is not fun right now😣

Wow!!! I don’t even know where to begin... Thank you all for being so candid, and sharing your experiences with me, as I know all to well how devastating and painful it can be to revisit some of these memories. Never did I think there were others in similar situations like mine. Too many times dentist have little no compassion for things going on with us. We should lobby for better dental rights, because dental care is just as important as our medical care. I’m pray for all of us tonight! God Bless you all.

I have a full upper denture. This is my third set. #1-didn't fit, denturist screwed them up. #2-different doc made them for me. $1500 that I took out a loan for. Dog ate them. #3-Financed through the denturist for $800.

I did have a partial for the bottom made with the first upper but it never fit right either. I never replaced it.

When I am home, I don't wear them. I do occasionally have trouble with an over-active gag reflex but for the most part, I have gotten used to them after a short time.

There a paste that you can get from your doctor that helps and there is a gel called biotene for dry mouth that is very soothing. I get burning younger and mouth and have quit making saliva so my doctor is doing a lip biopsy on Thursday to check on my saliva glands Fun fun lovely lupus!!!!!

I've had lupus for over a year and only had issues in my mouth when I was first diagnosed because it was so strong. I got canker sores on my tongue and inside mouth. And I think I had gum recession on my front teeth because I didn't have that before lupus. Since my lupus has been better controlled since then, I haven't had anymore issues with my mouth

Dental problems are common for those of us with Lupus. Sjogrens' is no help either. Stress impedes the saliva production which in turn allows bacteria to multiple. I'm almost all bridges and caps. Many thousands of $$$.
