My hair is falling out by the handfuls, does anyone else experience this?
@A MyLupusTeam Member it was definitely the meds that I was taking. I spent hours researching the meds and it specifically said it could cause hair loss. I have Lupus, Psoriatic Arthritis and Sjogren. When I discussed this with my Rheumatologist and she said that she was going to change my medication, which would have to be approved by my insurance also. I asked her the name of the drugs she was considering putting me on. She gave me a list and I went home and got on the computer and started doing research on the list she gave me. I realized one should know what type of medication you might be taking. Some of these drugs have very bad side effects and can cause death. It is something you have to consider with the help of your doctor.
This was a learning experience for me, now I check out every drug that is given to me and what the possible side effects could be.
Take care and stay safe.
@A MyLupusTeam Member whatever you decided to do about the biopsies; I will prayer for you. I know I would want to know and what can be done for me. Everyone is different and I had a serious problem with a brain tumor when I was quite young. I was 18 and old enough to make my own decision and I choice to go with the surgery and that was over 40 years ago.
Make your own decision; you are the only one that knows what is best for you.
Take care and stay safe.
My hair falls out all the time. Some days are worse than others. Some days it will just be strands throughout the day. Other days it fall out in clumps!
Yes, normal. My hair has really thinned. A lot around my face. Very dry and brittle. Very discouraging.
Yes, that is normal for people with Lupus. Do not panic!! Use good products on your hair!!!!! I use to work for Paul Mitchell. Be sure to embrace your hair.
