Does anyone know what this means and what I should expect. I am scared because the doctor says if I keep taking ibuprofen for pain I am going to die. Please help!

Stage 4 means that you are one step away from requiring dialysis. Please, please, please go see a registered dietitian to slow down the decline in your kidney function! There are specific diets for each stage (I’m a Registered Dietitian & had kidney failure multiple times, with dialysis). The ibuprofen is a NSAID, which cause acute kidney injury because the kidneys have to filter them out of the body. Ask your doctor for something else for your pain. Seriously, you can increase your GFR (glomular filtration rate) by simply changing your diet, so see an RD!

I experience sweats, dizzy, ringing in my ears, mood swings, itching, I am extremely tired, and my hair has really thinned out. Not a happy camper.

I know ibuprofen will destroy your kidneys then you will need dialysis. Please take care of yourself. I use Tylenol for my pain and CBD oils. Tylenol will not destroy your kidneys.

My sister used ibuprofen it destroyed her kidneys she received dialysis for seven years then received a kidney donated to her my youngest sister. That kidney served her for 19 years. She passes in July 2019 after fighting lupus for more that 40 years.

Take care of yourself and continue to fight the disease of lupus.
