I am curious has anyone who has Lupus contracted Covid? I'm curious because the mRNA vaccines work to boost immune system to attack the invading virus. Basically same as a lupus flare your immune system goes into overdrive and attacks the body.
Live vaccines are not recommended for people with autoimmune diseases. The flu, COVID, shingles, and pneumonia vaccines are not live vaccines. I can only speak for what I’ve been told by my doctors, but I was told that they are not only safe, they are highly recommended for those with autoimmune disease. It is your choice what you put into your body though, of course.
I’m actually very concerned about the way these vaccines operate. They do indeed incite an autoimmune response that combined with lupus could prove highly problematic. There needs to be more data.
Pfizer has a 5% anaphylaxis rate, which is statistically very high. For reference a flu vaccine is about 1% or less.
I think for now I’m waiting it out to see what the longer term data says. The risk to me seems to high to risk it.
I certainly hope everyone does their research. I'm pretty sure once a person gets all the covid shots and boosters, they will ping off cell towers; it's is anything but funny, but humor is the way I deal!! Please research, and use all sorts of resources, not just the propaganda pieces!!
PLEASE 🥺🙏
I got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine in early March and then contracted COVID in early May, most likely from one of my students as I teach at an elementary school. Luckily, my symptoms weren’t terrible. I actually thought I had a sinus infection but once I lost my sense of taste and smell I figured the sinus infection wasn’t the cause.
I haven't had the covid shot yet but I get it to March 25th so I'll let you know I'm going to take my chances
